VMware 5.1 vCenter Appliance – Call “EventHistoryCollector.SetLatestPageSize” for object “SessionID” on vCenter Server failed.

So I noticed an issue when using the vSphere Client to connect to the VMware vCenter Server Appliance was appearing every now and again.

Call “EventHistoryCollector.SetLatestPageSize” for object “SessionID” on vCenter Server “ServerName” failed. (unfortunately didnt take a screenshot, so here’s one I found and modified).

#VMworld Day 3 & 4 – Final Notes

So I didnt get a change to write up Day 3 nor Day 4, but now I’m home, I can get into it as writing blog posts and uploading pictures from your iPad to wordpress isĀ  pretty horrific to be honest, I was getting ready to launch my said iPad towards the hang space screen during the keynote. Maybe its time to update to the new iPad

So my sessions covered EUC, VVOLS, Troubleshooting and more, with Day 4 being the best day of the whole week, I actually attended every session I was booked into.

Heres a view of the sun outside the conference center, incase your interested

VMworld #VMworld – Day 2 – Keynote, Sessions on NSX, EUC and performance

So today was the first day of proper sessions and the keynote.

This is my first year at VMworld, but you can tell there is something missing slightly, and probably that is a big announcement, we already know about NSX, and most people are waiting for vSphere 6. However with the release of the delta exam on 5.5 it’s obvious that vSphere 6 will be here at some point in 2015.

#VMworld 2014 – Day 1

So day one is usually for two things, partner day, and Hands on Labs.

Unfortunately the session I was most hoping to see at partner day was “delivering best in class’s desktop virt. With horizon 6 and Cisco UCS”, I missed due to it starting 20 mins after my plane landed.

The flight was good, I managed to spot the #veeamfield, bit of a pain finding the coach to the conference centre, but least after my hotel problems, it’s only 200m up the road.

VMworld Barcelona 2014 – Here I come

So I’m off to do my first year at VMware VMworld in Barcelona next week.

Which means no posts from me for over a week.

I’m looking forward to it, I actually am excited for the technical aspects, rather than the partying, but I’m happy to be going back to Barcelona for the second time this year, doubt I will get a chance to see Barca though.

VMworld Barcelona is more towards the End-User computing part of VMwares business, which is fine by me as its the bit that interests me most. One a day to day basis I work with VMware a lot, but more infrastucture than EUC.

The hottest topic that I’m looking forward to is NSX, as a Cisco fanboy (#CiscoChampion) and qualified in that area, its a big change to the market coming, or so they say. So we’ll see how it goes, some of the technical deep dives look a bit to much for me at this stage in time, but I am booked for;

  • Virtualize your Network with VMware NSX

I’ll sit down and watch the recordings of the other NSX sessions when I get back from barcelona and have some time to digest the information.

The deep dives are ones not to miss if they apply to you, so I’m onto the;

  • Extreme Performance Series – Understanding Applications that require extra TLC for better performance on vSphere
  • Veeam Availability Suite v8
  • vCenter Server Architecture and Deployment

So if anyone is attending but reading this first, drop me a tweet and we can grab a beer, because most of all I’m looking forward to the networking opportunities.
